Hello Everyone!
My name is Robin Wilcox. I am a daughter, sister, aunt, lover, niece, and friend. I am also in need of a living donor for a kidney transplant. I have been on this journey for several years now, and I’d like to share my story.
It is difficult to put into words the toll that the long hours in dialysis clinics, three days per week affect my body. The time away from loved ones during holiday events, unable to travel with family without careful and calculated planning for treatment, is tough.
As a career civil servant in public safety and criminal justice, I kept others safe. It was rewarding work. I looked forward to spending my retirement making up for the time away from family, but it is still a challenge because of my health conditions. I thank God for every day, even though it is taxing. I remain jubilant and hopeful that the day will come when I will not only receive a kidney, but restoration and rejuvenation. Thank you everyone for listening, I feel better already!
