End the Wait Local Chapters
Supporting Individuals and Families Facing Advanced Kidney Failure
End the Wait local chapters bring communities together to support individuals and families navigating advanced kidney disease and the transplant journey. Through local volunteers, chapters provide encouragement, prayer, and practical help so that no one facing kidney failure has to walk the journey alone. Local chapters also help raise awareness about living kidney donation, encouraging people to consider how they can help save lives.
What Local Chapters Do
End the Wait chapters focus on three simple priorities:
Care
Support patients and caregivers with practical help, prayer, and encouragement.
Connect
Build community around individuals and families facing kidney disease.
Coordinate
Organize volunteers and work with leadership to ensure support is delivered effectively.
Ways Volunteers Can Help
Local volunteers may serve in several areas:

Transportation
Providing rides to dialysis treatments, transplant evaluations, and medical appointments.

Meals & Practical Help
Organizing meal trains, grocery assistance, and support during recovery.

Encouragement & Prayer
Offering regular check-ins, companionship, and spiritual encouragement.

Community Awareness
Helping educate others about kidney disease and living kidney donation.
Local Chapter Coordinator
Local End the Wait Chapter Coordinators…
- Recruit volunteers
- Connect patients and families with support
- Communicate with End the Wait national leadership
- Serve as community coordinators—not medical authorities. They do not provide medical advice or manage transplant decisions.

Working Alongside Transplant Centers
End the Wait respects and supports the work of transplant professionals.
Our chapters provide community support before and after transplant, while medical care and donor evaluation are handled by licensed medical teams.
Our Vision
End the Wait is building a growing network of local chapters across the country.
Through churches and compassionate volunteers, our vision is to transform inspiration into service, awareness into compassion, and donor interest into life-saving transplants. National leadership provides structure and local communities provide hands-on, compassionate service. Together we can ensure that no person facing kidney failure walks the journey alone.
