This is something I don’t typically share, but hopefully through sharing my story it will draw attention to others.
I have CKD a (chronic kidney disease) something that can be easily overlooked because it doesn’t come with a “look.” Most days I feel great, but there are those choice, few days where I have to ask, “Why me?”
It feels ironic to use the word “lucky” to describe my situation, but I’m very fortunate to have found out that this was my reality at such a young age. This knowledge gave me the head start I needed to take care of myself as far as what I’m putting into my body.
Hopefully through sharing this story someone else in this situation or a similar one will have the courage to speak on their journey. Thank you for reading, I really hope this will bring awareness to CKD and other issues alike.
