“I believe film can save lives.”

Randy Simpkins' Story

My name is Randy Simpkins, and I am a kidney donor. That decision changed my life and gave me the vision to create the End the Wait Foundation.

In 2010 Lionsgate Entertainment released “The Way Home,” a movie starring Dean Cain that told the story of my community coming together to search for my missing son. When I witnessed how that simple film affected so many people, it got me thinking…

"What if telling my story of kidney donation encouraged others to do the same?"

What if we could make a film about the life-changing impact of living kidney donation on the recipient and the donor? What if telling my story of kidney donation encouraged others to do the same? How many lives could be saved?

That’s why I’m again partnering with Dean Cain to make a film about my kidney donation journey to raise awareness of a crucial need that is easier to address than most of us realize.

In the U.S. alone, 13 people will die each day waiting for a kidney. Together, I believe that by telling the story of kidney donation, we can save 100,000 lives and End the Wait!
