Randy & Russell's Story

In 2022, pastor Randy Simpkins received an opportunity to serve as a chaplain on the Appalachian Trail, requiring a six-month commitment to hike 2,200 miles. He was excited for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, training for months to prepare, determined to complete what he felt God had called him to do.

But after facing unforeseen circumstances, Randy was forced to abandon his journey after only 100 miles. He returned home feeling defeated, wondering if he had failed to see God’s calling through.

Back at home, Randy agreed to lead a women’s retreat, an opportunity he would have missed had he stayed on the Trail. Overheard prayers for a kidney donation lead him to a remarkable moment, setting Randy on an unexpected course.

“End the Wait” will reunite the original stars from the film “The Way Home”–Dean Cain, Lori Beth Sikes, and director Lance Dreesen. Experience the power of one man’s obedience as a stranger’s life is saved. This inspiring true story will leave you uplifted and believing in the miracles that happen when love leads to action.
